Ony Retreat Villas is a relaxed 3-star property set among the coconut palms of Cam Thanh, on the leafy edge of Hoi An where the town gives way to rivers, rice paddies and the famous water-coconut forest. It is built for travellers who want the calm of the countryside but still expect a short hop into the lantern-lit Ancient Town, roughly 4 km away, and to the beaches of Cua Dai and An Bang.
The retreat gathers six room types, from a compact Queen Room with garden view to a 54 m² Two-Bedroom Suite for families or groups, all with air conditioning, private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and a private entrance. Many rooms open onto a balcony or terrace framing the garden or the pool, and the ground-floor units are handy for guests who prefer to skip the stairs.
Around the rooms sit the things that make a stay here easy: a year-round outdoor swimming pool, a garden restaurant serving Vietnamese and international dishes, a bar, a sun terrace and a private beach area. There is free private parking, an on-site massage service and a tour desk for basket-boat trips and cooking classes. Payment on site is in cash only, which is worth keeping in mind when you arrive.

Ony Retreat Villas offers six room types that span solo travellers, couples, families and small groups. Every room shares the same core comforts — air conditioning, a private bathroom with walk-in shower and hairdryer, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a work desk and a private entrance — so the choice really comes down to size, view and how many people are travelling.
At the smaller end, the Queen and Double rooms suit two guests, with the Double, Twin and Triple adding a balcony or terrace overlooking the garden or pool. The Family Room sleeps up to four with garden views, while the two-bathroom, 54 m² Two-Bedroom Suite is the pick for families or friends who want two separate bedrooms and their own pool-view terrace.

For a 3-star place, Ony Retreat Villas packs in more than you might expect. The centrepiece is the year-round outdoor swimming pool, wrapped by a sun terrace with loungers and umbrellas, backed by a lush garden and a private beach area — a rare touch this side of Hoi An. An on-site restaurant serves Vietnamese, Asian and international dishes, with breakfast options that run from Asian to full English and American, and a bar for a drink after a day of sightseeing.
Getting around and unwinding are both easy here. There's free private parking, a paid airport shuttle, bicycle rental and a tour desk for basket-boat rides, cooking classes and local walking tours, plus a range of massages on site. Rooms come with air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, a work desk, safe and private entrance, while the 24-hour front desk handles luggage storage, currency exchange and express check-in. Good to know: payment on site is cash only.
Ony Retreat Villas sits in Cam Thanh, a rural ward on the eastern edge of Hoi An where the Thu Bon River spreads into channels and the famous Bay Mau water-coconut forest. It's a green, low-rise pocket of rice fields and palm groves, popular for basket-boat rides through the nipa palms — several of them start within walking or cycling distance of the retreat.
The lantern-lit Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is roughly 4 km away, an easy 10-15 minutes by bike, taxi or the hotel's shuttle. Its landmarks — the Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky Old House and the assembly halls and museums along Tran Phu street — are best explored on foot in the cooler morning or after sunset. The nearest beaches, Cua Dai and An Bang, are about 3-4 km north; An Bang in particular is the go-to for its beach bars and calmer swimming.
For arrivals, Da Nang International Airport is around 34 km (about 40 minutes by car), with the retreat's airport shuttle an easy option. The best months to visit run from February to April, when the weather is dry and mild and the beaches are open; the sea is calmest for swimming between March and August. October and November are the wettest months and can bring flooding, so it's worth checking conditions if you travel late in the year. Getting around is easiest by bicycle, motorbike or ride-hailing, and the tour desk can arrange transfers.
